My husband travels with his job all over North America. So when he called me from work Tuesday and asked if I would take a trip with him that would be close to my home town, boy I jumped on it. I haven't been home since 2001. I got pregnant with my daughter a few months after my last trip there and just haven't been able to get back home, till now. Well, we were actually going to leave yesterday, but his work plans changed. Better later than never!
I am so excited. I am a Missouri girl even though I have lived in Tennessee for almost 12 years. I love going back home to the country. My family lives among the Mark Twain National Forest in Mid-Missouri. It is absolutely beautiful there. This will be my daughters first trip to see where mommy spent her life from the time I was born. I visited family there until I was 12 because I lived in St. Louis. Then my parents moved us there when I turned 12.
I will post photos and update ya'll on my trip when I return.

Let me introduce myself...
Well, after thinking about it I thought I should introduce myself and tell what I plan my blog to be about.
I am currently a stay at home mom of two children, my son is 10 years old, my daughter is 5. I will also be homeschooling both of my children this year. I took my son out of our local public school in February because he was being harassed by the teacher. I couldn't believe that a 4th grader could be harassed but it is possible. He was so stressed out from the situation that he was beginning to have signs of IBS along with terrible headaches and anxiety. So I took him out and allowed my daughter to finish out her year in pre-k at the school.
When I think about it now I am sometimes shocked at how much my life and my view of life has changed in the last few years. I mean I worked my butt off in college to get my degree as a teacher and then after one year I knew that the public school system was not for me or my children. I got so sick of the testing and the teaching to the test. Yes, no matter what they say they do teach to the test.
Anywho, I am now planning my first year as a full time mother and teacher to my two darlings. I never thought it would be so relaxing spending so much time with my kids, but it is. We do have our bad days, lots of them. But we also have lots of really good days. My plan for this blog is to share my ups and downs, my triumphs and failures and everyday life during my home school journey. So hold on tight here we go!

My New Ride!!
My dh decided that he had had enough with my '05 Dodge Caravan. We had tons of trouble with the electrical system since we purchased it. Now it was out of warranty and everything was going wrong, and each thing cost a fortune. So he had just traded for a new Chevy 4 door truck and decided to purchase a Chevy for me too!! Well I wasn't going to say no! I'm not that crazy!
So here is my new Chevy Uplander Van. It is complete with a DVD player and cordless headphones. A life saver for my 2 dc on long rides! I have to say it is the nicest vehicle I have ever owned. I just had to share it with everyone! Thanks for listening to my gushing! I'm done now!

Hello!
This is not my first venture into blogging, but I have to say it has been my easiest. I just started blogging on the homeschool blogger last month, but I haven't really gotten into it. I am not computer savvy to say the least. So when I saw some of the other blogs posted from this site I of course checked into it and here I am!! I will slowly change all my postings to this site in the future.
Check out my other blog for my ramblings about my homeschooling experience among other things. It is www.homeschoolblogger.com/downhomeintn/.
