Happy New Year!!
Unlike most of our friends we are spending the new year at home. I cooked stuffed shells, one of our favorite meals. Then we played my Scene It Harry Potter game for the first time. It was awesome. I have to say I was a little disappointed with the lack of competition in my family. TT was the only one who could challenge me.
My dear hubby and I watch a movie and now here we are ready to turn in for the night. Man, are we party animals or what?
I plan on blogging more this week about our Christmas and holiday experiences. Things are still a little busy.
I did get to go to dinner and a movie with my hubby last week. He had won a gift certificate to one of our favorite restaurants so we got to eat for free! Then he took me to see P.S. I Love You. Ladies, I have to say it ranked right up there with The Notebook with me. Gerard Butler was the leading man, (you know from the 300) and he was breathtaking. The story was heartwarming too. Even dear hubby liked it.
Have fun all and ring in the New Year!

The End is in Sight!
Monday, went to town with my mom and two kids to Christmas shop and look for an outfit for my hubby's Christmas party. Didn't end up getting much.
Tuesday, went back to town to ALONE to get an outfit for Christmas party (still didn't find anything) picked up fruit platter and other stuff for Boy Scout Court of Honor which I was in charge of planning. Went to Court of Honor. Here is a pic of TT earning his Tenderfoot Rank.
Wednesday, we had a Daisy Girl Scout Christmas party which I forgot to bring an ornament for the gift exchange. So I ended up running to a local store and purchasing one to dash back to the party with. It all turned out well.
Thursday, Poogie and I returned to town to purchase the blouse I picked out to wear to my hubby's Christmas party and to get gifts for her ballet teachers. That evening we had ballet class, the last one until next year!
Friday, took my mom to the grocery store, again. That evening my hubby and I went to his company Christmas party. We had a blast and even went out dancing after the party with a group of friends. We hadn't went dancing in six years. We are going to try to start going more often. It was so much fun. I mean that's how we met, we were on a country dance team together. I guess it makes us feel young, I don't know.
Yesterday, we spent the day working around the house and in town finishing up shopping.
Today, we spent the morning cleaning the house for Christmas and then my hubby and the kids went to do a little shopping while I stayed home. I enjoyed the time to myself. I took a nap, watched a movie and scrapbooked a little.
Now, I need to go to sleep because tomorrow will be a long day. But it will be a blessed one! Merry Christmas to all of you!

I'm Throwing in the Towel!
We have had so much to do with the holidays coming, boy scouts, daisys, ballet, visitors, and just day to day life that I feel dizzy sometimes just thinking about it. So after this week everything stops until next year. I am going to take this week to finish up all our commitments and holiday stuff so that I can enjoy the next two weeks with my family. Do any of you feel like this?? How do you deal with it??
On top of my chaotic life my hubby has had to take his first business trip over seas. Now I would have been excited to get a chance to go to Brussels. But he is not adventurous as me. Plus he doesn't like to fly very much. It is very uncomfortable to him unless he gets upgraded to first class. His legs and back hurt on the longer flights in the crowded seats in coach. I feel for him. This flight is 10 hours +long. Plus, we just don't like to be that far away from one another.
So keep him in your prayers. He was quite nervous and anxious before he left. I hope his first trip to Europe is a good one. I would love to go myself someday.
Well till tomorrow!

Daisy's!
What a precious little Daisy. I wish I could show the photo of her being pinned but there were other little ones in the pic so her is one of her in front of her favorite flower.
Here is Poogie with her favorite animal Sally (which she made at the Build a Bear at the St. Louis Zoo last summer). They made quite the strut down the runway.
She really enjoys Daisy's. Between it, ballet and the play dates with our homeschool group she gets plenty of interaction with other little girls.

I actually accomplished something!
He bought me a set of Christmas albums at our local Hobby store so being in the spirit I began scrapping our Christmas photos. Her are a few examples of my work.
I haven't scrapped like this in a while and I am working on using different styles. This one was really fun to do.
I know I need to work on taking better photos of my scrapbooks but these were rushed. I plan on completing the Christmas layouts up to this year by Christmas. I guess we shall see.
Well, I must turn in now. I have to get up at the crack of dawn to go to my dentist appointment to see what is wrong with this root canal. My dentist is sending me to a specialist. Wish me luck!

An Encouraging Moment.
Anywho, my moment happened tonight while I was at Wally World with my family. My son and I ran into his first grade teacher. Now, we were crazy about her. She was so sweet and TT learned so much with her. She asked how we were doing and TT told her all about the Grinch unit we were doing including the cave lapbook. She was truly interested and so supportive.
Well, I have to say all of this was a shock to me. I have known this lady for 5 years and I know she was very sincere in her praise and support. It just came from a very unexpected place. Up until now most of my ps teacher friends have not been very supportive of my choice to homeschool. But it was so encouraging, and I thank her for that.
On another note, I had the first person to quiz my child tonight. A lady at my daughter's dance class told her granddaughter that Poogie was homeschooled. Then she started quizzing Poogie about stuff. I was a little shocked. Poogie just kind of looked at her and after the first question she quit answering. I didn't ask her to respond and finally the lady got the hint. I guess this was an evening of firsts!

Another weekend has come and gone.
Then that evening my hubby the kids and I went back to town. Hubby wanted to go to a local craft store to pick up a Cuddlebug for me for Christmas. For those of you that don't scrapbook it is a small die cutter and embosser. Anywho, the store had the tickets out that you took to the register to purchase them but when we got there they told us they were out of stock. Well take the tickets down then, easy as that. We still had a good night, we went to eat and shopped some more.
Today my hubby had pity for me and took the kids for several hours so that I could scrapbook and just spend some time alone. It was quite nice. I got a a few layouts done or almost done.
Unfortunately, we had to go back to town to take my mom grocery shopping, so I picked up my stuff too. We just arrived home a few hours ago. Since then I have been putting up some meat I got on a good sale and putting all the other stuff away. I don't know which I dislike more going to the grocery store or putting the stuff away. Plus of course we had to have drama at bedtime in our house due to a little girl who didn't get a much needed nap today. So I am turning in and will hopefully get a good nights rest to start the week out fresh.
