Books, Books and more Books

I have been cleaning, organizing and rearranging our school stuff to be prepared for the upcoming school year. I took some time today to take some pics of the extra books I have purchased for reference, exploration and extra reading.

I purchased most of these because they include required reading from TT's SOTW history and the science encyclopedias will help with our science units. I am very happy with the Kingfisher Encyclopedias. They have great graphics and are very interesting to read.

If you haven't found the Horrible Science books yet you should give them a try. TT has been reading them over the summer. They may sound weird but they make learning about science fun and interesting. With TT I don't really have to make things more interesting for science he loves it anyway, but I couldn't resist these and I'm glad I didn't. I bought most of them on Amazon used and they were cheap.

These are just a few of the exploratory books I have purchased. The first is a great book about the body, a subject we will cover this year. It makes the learning very hands on.

The Great Artists book I purchased to go along with some lessons about different great artists and artistic styles. I also want to do some lessons on great composers but I haven't found a book I like for that yet.

Now all I need to purchase is a microscope or slide viewer for science. I'm still searching for what I want.
