I can't believe it I have strep!

I have no idea how I got it. I haven't been around anyone who has had it. All I can think of is I picked it up in a public place somewhere. I need to go to the doctor, but I hate to go. I have had strep enough to know that is what I have. I just dread sitting at a doctor's office for hours for them to tell me that I do have strep and then give me a shot or antibiotics.

What I also hate is that usually everyone in the house gets it too. So that means I have to pay for my visit and three others to the doctor. Our doctors aren't the kind to give you a prescription just in case others begin to have symptoms. No they want that 100+ office visit to tell you what you already know. I have began to distrust many in the medical profession. We have been through alot over the last 6 years with my hubby's health and they haven't proved anything to me except they want more money.

To top it off I will have to go to the walk in clinic because our family doctor has taken the summer off. The whole summer! Must be nice.

Oh, this week I get to take Poogie in for her Kindergarten shots. Yes, I know she will be in 1st grade, I didn't get them last year. She was scared to death and I am leery of the shots anyway. The appointments lady began to lecture me when I made the appointment after she saw Poogie's bday and wanted to know how she attended school without her shots. When I informed her I homeschooled she said that "it figures." If her pediatrician cops the same attitude I can tell you now we will not be receiving her shots nor any other care from him.

I have been reading and doing a lot of research on the subject of autism being linked to the use of vaccines. Now I have a college back ground in science, molecular biology and virology, before I met my hubby and I understand the whole purpose behind vaccines. I just think they need to look into this clear link between autism and vaccines. The CDC and doctors see it as a lottery of sorts saying you have a better chance of dying from the disease itself than getting hurt by the vaccine. But there are children injured by the vaccines, I have seen them. My feeling is that it has become more of a money maker than a life saver to the doctors.

Okay, I'll get off my soapbox. I am sick and cranky. All I wanted to do this weekend was relax, scrapbook, go out with my hubby and take my son to a baseball game. Well, we tried to go out Saturday night but I had to come home because I was feeling sick. Today I spent it on the couch feeling quite yucky. Maybe next weekend will be better.
